At TRAC we are committed to minimising our impact on the environment. As a result we have an appointed Environmental Manager to ensure that as a team we do everything possible to meet and exceed all government regulations, laws and codes of practice regarding environmental matters. You can download our environmental policy here.
The head office of TRAC is situated within an energy park which has many environmentally friendly design features:
- The walls, floor slabs and roof are heavily insulated to provide excellent thermal insulation and we have under floor heating.
- Boreholes are used to harness geothermic energy to heat the heating pipes and water.
- Rainwater from the roof is collected in underground tanks, to provide sufficient water for non-drinking purposes.
- The office uses high frequency ballast lighting for energy efficiency.
As well as our energy efficient offices TRAC have adopted other energy saving measures such as:
- Promoting the use of telephone conferencing negating the need to travel long distances by car or plane.
- Ensuring our employees are 'energy-smart' turning off unused appliances and their computers when not in use.
- Using a 100% renewable energy supplier.
- Aspiring to use local suppliers for all our purchasing requirements whenever possible thus reducing our carbon footprint.
- Always considering environmental factors such as packaging waste and sustainability when purchasing office equipment and supplies.
- Using recycled stationery.
- Promoting paper saving techniques.
- Recycling all our waste paper and cardboard.
- Encouraging car sharing where practical.
